steinexpo 2011 – continually more safety with BG RCI
We combine competences! This is the slogan at the large joint stand of the Employers’ Liability Insurance Association of the Raw Materials and Chemical Industries (BG RCI) at the steinexpo 2011 (Figure). Against the impressive background of Europe’s largest basalt quarry, BG RCI will set up a “market place of opportunities”. Together with stand partners from renowned companies from industry, BG RCI will give the visitors the opportunity to inform themselves about the dangers of the ordinary working day and the corresponding prevention offers in an exciting and entertaining way at Nieder-Ofleiden from 31 August to 3 September.
Serious or even fatal work accidents still happen during repairs or fault clearance on continuous conveyors. Therefore, BG RCI will focus on the two topics at the steinexpo. Performance artists will show at a critical point how to assess a danger correctly. For this purpose a telescopic forklift truck with working platform will be presented, which ensures safe maintenance work at elevated workstations. Partners, such as VHV Anlagenbau or Stricker, will present good and safe products, such as belt conveyor systems and the corresponding cleaning units, just nearby.
The stand will be distinguished by many communication and presentation offers. For instance, exemplarily good and safe problem solutions in step with actual practice of the ordinary working day will be presented. Products of the winners of the BG RCI award will demonstrate trends and innovations as regards labour safety and health protection. Manufacturers, such as Skylotec together with the central mine rescue service of BG RCI, will show how personal protective equipment will be used exemplarily when entering silos and during recovery at elevated workstations.
MSA Auer (safety engineering), Geo-Konzept (blasting software and quarry face surveying), Brigade (camera systems) and B+W (dust collection technologies for the bulk solids industry) will also take part. The German Road Safety Council with its model landscape for cross-country vehicles will provide information about driver safety training with SUVs. Surrounded by the basalt quarry, the German Federation of Explosives Engineers is the correct contact. The raw material in Nieder-Ofleiden is extracted by means of blasting.
You will find the BG RCI stand (www.bgrci.de) at the demonstration area A, stand A2, in the centre of the quarry. A detailed map is available on the homepage of the organizer, Geoplan GmbH, under the heading Aussteller/Geländeplan: www.steinexpo.de.
