POWTECH 2011 on the up
As the world’s leading exhibition for mechanical processing technologies and instrumentation, POWTECH 2011 offers from 11.-13.10.2011 a unique and comprehensive range of products combined with a highly topical supporting programme in Nuremberg/Germany. The slump in the German machinery and plant construction sector appears to have ended. For example, the member firms of the German Large Industrial Plant Manufacturers‘ Group (AGAB) expect a definite recovery in project work this year and a continuation of the upward trend for orders, which has been observed since mid 2010.
Driven by the trend to ever higher quality products, it is necessary to completely remove all product residues when changing batches to avoid mixing and hence loss of quality. There is a desire to make cleaning processes more efficient, which in turn requires the use of easy-to-clean plant components. Furthermore the automation of cleaning processes is required. This is achieved by the use of smooth materials with surface finishes like the standard finishes used in the pharmaceutical and food industries (mean roughness Ra < 0.8). To cover this demand for plant components in hygienic design, NürnbergMesse together with the trade journals “Pharma+Food” and “CHEMIE TECHNIK” is organizing the new special show “Easy to Clean” at POWTECH/TechnoPharm 2011 (Fig.).
2 Explosive topics expertly prepared
Explosion protection is a key issue that affects all branches of the bulk solids industry. An exclusive tour of selected stands takes place daily for visitors to enable them to benefit from the exhibitors’ explosion protection know-how. At the Exhibitors Forum in hall 8, experts discuss relevant explosion protection topics at 1.30 p.m. on each day of the exhibition. The successful INDEX SAFETY CONGRESS (ISC) on Explosion Protection will be continued in the CCN Ost congress centre on 11.-12.10.2011. The event parallel to POWTECH combines scientific papers on brand-new research findings with presentations on new developments of products and solutions. The programme will also be enhanced with live demonstrations and experimental presentations.
