BEUMER supplies quality
Knauf Engineering, a subsidiary of the construction materials manufacturer Knauf, headquartered in Iphofen, has contracted the intralogistics experts at BEUMER to provide bag transport conveying technology and palletising and packaging technology for two Russian locations of the Knauf Gips subsidiary in Novonukutsk and Novomoskovsk. Knauf and BEUMER have had a successful partnership for decades.
The scope of supply includes a conveying system for bag transport and two BEUMER paletpac bag palletisers (Fig.) with a BEUMER stretch hood packaging line at each location. The palletisers in Novonukutsk are meant to bundle 1500 10 kg bags of plaster and putty per hour, as well as assemble 1350 bundles of one 25 and one 30 kg bag per hour. In Novomoskovsk, the BEUMER systems will palletise and transport 1800 bags per hour on the „plaster“ line and 600 per hour on the „putty“ line.
Specific demands were placed on BEUMER for this project. The buildings were existing structures, so the intralogistics specialist had to adapt the systems to the limited available spaces. One requirement was also to fulfil the high standards of the GOST R certificate. In the Russian domestic market, this certificate represents a vital mark of quality. The certificate is perceived by end-users as an expression of high quality. Installation and commissioning will be performed at both locations simultaneously in one or two shift operation.
