Rohr Bagger introduced into Ellicott Dredge Enterprises, LLC
The Rohr Corporation (USA) and Rohr Bagger in Mannheim – leading manufacturer of automated floating clam shell and bucket ladder dredges for the sand and gravel and aggregates industry – have now been integrated into the Ellicott Dredge Enterprises, LLC from Baltimore/USA. Through a newly-formed subsidiary, Rohr International Dredge Co., LLC, Rohr will operate as an independent, wholly-owned subsidiary of Ellicott. Ellicott is a world leader in the portable dredge design and manufacturing industry with customers in over 80 countries. Ellicott, which built all of the dredges used in the original construction of the Panama Canal, has served the dredging market, especially for the mining applications, for over 125 years. Through a recent equity investment by Markel – a multi-billon dollar financial holding company (NYSE:MKL) focused on building businesses over the long term – Ellicott has taken the steps to continue this legacy. Rohr has now become a critical cog in Ellicott’s strategy to provide its customers with the dredges they need. The Rohr Bagger GmbH engineering, manufacturing and sales activities will continue to serve the European Market sector from Mannheim.
