Metso appoints new CEO

Matti Kähkönen is to become chief executive officer and president of global process solutions group Metso in March 2011, replacing Jorma Eloranta after 7 years in this position. Kähkönen’s experience has been focused in the minerals and mining sector, and he moves to the position of CEO after 4 years heading Metso’s Mining and Construction division (former Minerals division). His goal is to ensure that Metso’s positive operational and financial development during the past few years will continue. Kähkönen joined Metso’s executive team in 2001.
