Offensive program in the middle of the crisis

RUBBLE MASTER HMH GmbH have used the last few months to position themselves optimally for the future from 2010 (Fig. 1). Following the international trend in the building trade, the company has developed a flexible, mobile crushing plant, type RM70 GO!, thus creating a profitable mainstay with low operating costs, varied possibilities of application and easy maintenance to use staff and machinery to capacity. This is an ideal machine in particular for newcomers to recycling. The impact crusher produces up to 120 t/h of cubic valuable material from general building waste, asphalt, concrete or natural stone. During this process, reinforcing steel will eliminate any mineral substances and will itself be removed from the final product by means of a magnetic separator.

The RM70 GO! is part of a complete business model comprising the individual customer advisory service as regards the optimum machine for the corresponding situation. Together with the customer, a solution will be developed to show how the recycling building materials could be used and marketed in an optimum and profitable way. In addition, support and advisory services are provided as regards permits and financing, furthermore comprehensive training as well as continuous local service are included within the framework of the RUBBLE MASTER lifetime support.

Due to the enormous demand during the last few years, it was necessary to extend the production location. In 2007 they decided to set up a modern, new building as the RUBBLE MASTER centre to the south of Linz. The communication to all directions has been facilitated due to open and transparent areas as well as a ramp as the central element connecting all floors of the building (Fig. 2). Comprehensive test runs as well as the acceptance tests of all RUBBLE MASTER compact recyclers take place in the soundproof commissioning hall that is protected against emissions.

1 Concentration of competencies in sales and product development

RUBBLE MASTER make use of the present situation to focus on their competencies in sales and internationalization. Qualified sales partners on five continents and, in part, the company’s own sales subsidiaries, such as in North America, Switzerland, Italy, England and Austria, form a strong international sales network. The cooperation with the foreign trade departments of the Federal Economic Chamber with their local know-how also contributes to the success.

The experience gained and the consistent development of a prototype for mobile, compact recycling plants require adaptations in the field of manufacturing and technology. The R&D team uses creative methods for the development of new products and machine attachments corresponding to the state of the art, such as for instance during the development of the RM70 GO! (Fig. 3). Taking into account the factors quality, costs and availability, they developed a completely conclusive machine and operation concept. Furthermore, with the chair of mechanical engineering/mineral processing of Freiberg Technical University in Germany they have found a partner for research and development who will expand its scientific work in close cooperation with RUBBLE MASTER also in the field of preparation of construction waste materials.

2 Added value due to optimized operation

Until now it was not possible for crushers to record operating data, analyze them and send them to the head office. With the new generation of RUBBLE MASTER machines, all the operating data are to be available for analyses. A plug-on tool was developed together with the Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH), which acquires all technical data and compiles them for complete machine reporting. The machine performance can be read at any time and the individual adjustments can be changed in such a way that the machine will continuously run optimally and efficiently. The most important advantages of this development are transparency due to distributed data management, proactive notification in case of errors, direct analysis on mobile equipment, intelligent data transfer as well as independence of hardware and manufacturers, respectively. These characteristics will characterize the compact recyclers of RUBBLE MASTER in the future.
