MeWa Recycling Maschinen und Anlagenbau GmbH

Expanding agents in aerosol cans are easily inflammable and represent a problem in refuse incineration due to the filling under pressure. Therefore, specialist companies have established themselves in the market for this waste stream. One of these companies, Seiba Entsorgungstechnik GmbH, has now streamlined its aerosol can processing system and installed the cross-flow chipper QZ 1200 (Fig.) from MeWa Recycling Maschinen und An-lagenbau GmbH. The cross-flow chipper with its chain principle takes the cans to pieces in a matter of seconds. The liquids possibly still retained are immediately discharged from the machine and drained off. The hollow parts consisting of tin sheet or aluminium are removed from the plastic components in the vessel of the QZ. The metals and plastic materials are cleaned in a water bath and are separated into the three fractions aluminium, iron and plastics by means of a magnet and a non-ferrous separator. The valuable materials obtained are passed on to the recycling companies in the region.
